FRANK ZAPPA - 1976 Zoot Allures

F.Z
Zoot Allures compared to other earlier albums of F.Z sounds very stripped down to bare essentials. Zappa focused on limited instrumentation, lots of bass and vocals to create a Masterpiece of dark, slow, sleazy rock. Except for the opening and closing numbers ("Wind Up Workin' in a Gas Station" and "Disco Boy"), all the material is slow to medium tempo with Zappa delivering the closest he'll ever get to a crooner vocal performance.
"The Torture Never Stops" is the highlight, ten minutes of suggestive lyrics, crawling riffs, searing solos, and female screams of pain. That song and "Disco Boy" became classic tracks; "Black Napkins" and "Zoot Allures" rate among the man's best guitar solos. Historical note: The album was first devised as a two-LP set and would have included "Sleep Dirt," "Filthy Habits," and "The Ocean Is the Ultimate Solution," which all also fit the mood. Although humor has not been completely evacuated, Zoot Allures comes through as a much more serious rock record.
Yet, it is more than a transitional album; it represents one of Zappa's strongest accomplishments.

FRANK ZAPPA - 1972 Waka Jawaka

F.Z
Waka/Jawaka was Zappa's second solo album and is occasionally referred to as "Hot Rats II" (the handles of the faucets on the cover artwork show the words "hot" and "rats" instead of "hot" and "cold"). His writing and recording technique had matured a lot in very little time. The dirty blues jamming of the 1970 LP was replaced by clean, crisp jazz improvisations -- no need to say this was also an abrupt change in style from the Mothers' 1969-1971 incarnation. The album, released in July 1972, is comprised of two extended instrumental pieces and two shorter songs. "Big Swifty," a theme-and-solos showcase, would become a live favorite, but the highlight is the title track, recorded with ex-Mothers of Invention keyboardist Don Preston, trumpeter Sal Marquez, trombonists Bill Byers and Ken Shroyer, saxophonist Mike Altschul, bassist Erroneous, and drummer Aynsley Dunbar.
The songs, never performed live..

GARY MOORE / G - FORCE - Selftitled

GARY MOORE'S G-FORCE

When Garry Moore asked to tour America in support of Van Halen, he recruited vocalist Tony Newton, bassist Willie Dee, and drummer Mark Nauseef (ex-Ian Gillan Band and Elf) to embark on said tour — not as Gary Moore — but as an entirely new band named G Force. The tour was a success in so far as the group subsequently completed an entire album consisting of hard rock songs but they would fall apart as soon as Gary was invited to join former ELP man Greg Lake's band, after which he once again resumed his solo career. THE KINGSMEN - The Very Best

A few words:

A rock & roll band from Portland, Oregon, the Kingsmen's one big hit "Louie, Louie" defined the garage-band style and became one of the all-time classics. The original lineup included Jack Ely (lead singer and guitar), Lynn Easton (drums), Mike Mitchell (lead guitar), Bob Nordby (bass), and Don Galucci (piano). After Ely had "incorrectly" taught the rest of the band the Wailers version of Richard Berry's "Louie Louie" (thus altering the basic rhythm into the now famous duh-duh-duh, duh-duh, duh-duh-duh, duh-duh riff that has become the only way anyone has played it since), they recorded it for fifty dollars at a primitive local recording studio with only three mikes, Ely hollering the lyrics into an overhead boom mike suspended ten feet in the air. Released on a local label, the record went nowhere after Paul Revere & the Raiders quickly covered it in the Northwest market, although it had quickly become a standard for all teen bands in that area. In 1964, the record started to break nationally, causing the breakup of the original lineup when Easton copyrighted the group's name, informing the other members that he was now sole owner of the Kingsmen and its new lead singer. Ely formed his own Kingsmen, touring at the same time as Easton, who was lip-synching the record whenever possible. Only Easton and Mitchell were left from the original lineup, but they kept scoring big with frat-band versions of "Money" and "Little Latin Lupe Lu," reaching their peak with "The Jolly Green Giant," while Ely languished in relative obscurity and Gallucci formed Don & the Goodtimes.

THE E - TYPES - Introducing

A few words :
In the mid-'60s, this group from Salinas, CA, (near San Jose) played a pleasant blend of British Invasion-inspired pop/rock and a touch of garage. With prominent keyboards, three-part harmonies, and original material with minor-keyed shifts, they sounded something like a mix between the Zombies and the Turtles. Very popular within their (pretty limited) stomping grounds, they made no impact whatsoever on a national level, issuing four singles on small labels (most of them with producer Ed Cobb, who also handled the Standells and the Chocolate Watch Band). Certainly they were a promising outfit, capable of offering strong original material (most of which, oddly, was penned by a friend who wasn't in the band, Larry Hosford). They didn't have enough time to convert that promise into truly significant work, however. They disbanded in 1967, when their carefully executed pop/rock was falling out of fashion in California, in favor of psychedelia.
Courtesy taken from Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
There are twenty-two tracks, including both sides of their four singles and previously unissued demos, outtakes, and live performances. The four singles are legimitately fine finds if you collect obscure '60s pop-garage. "Long Before," "I Can't Do It," and "Put the Clock Back on the Wall" are outstanding, and the cover of Lennon-McCartney's "Love of the loved" (which the Beatles never officially released themselves) rates as one of the best unknown Beatle covers of the '60s. Most of the rest of this archival compilation is padding, though, consisting largely of faithful British Invasion covers and some outtakes that are markedly inferior to their singles. It's an enjoyable listen for collectors of mid-'60s rock, boasting considerably more pop-oriented material and accomplished production than the garage norm. But it couldn't be considered in the top drawer of this sort of thing.

THE 13th FLOOR ELEVATORS - Paradise Found

ROKY ERICKSON
Troubles, troubles and troubles was all his life.
A great songwriter/singer/guitarist leader of one of the best psychedelic groups of the late 60's.
A period with historic groups playing around, like,QSMS,GREAT SOCIETY,BIRDS.
The band's name is a play on the superstitions that lead to many tall buildings not having a 13th floor, and the fact that the letter "M" (for marijuana) is the thirteenth letter of the alphabet.
As you will see this compilation is from the fans of 13th Floor Elevator mostly from 45's and demo versions. Is Rare and recommended for every collector of the group.

THE BOBBY FOULLER FOUR - I Fought The Law

A few Words :

With his Stratocaster guitar and brash, full sound, at his best ,Fuller sounded like Buddy Holly into the '60s. Cracking the Top 30 in 1966 with a cover of Holly's "Love's Made a Fool of You" and the Top Ten with "I Fought the law" (written by one-time Cricket Sonny Curtis), Fuller had just become a star when he was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a parked car in Hollywood (the police thought it was a suicide, just about everyone who knew him disagreed).

Fuller's relatively short period of national stardom actually crowned a good half-dozen years of recording, during which he released many outstanding tracks.A talented and prolific songwriter and a studio whiz who drew from Eddie Cochran and (though only slightly) the full guitar sound of the British Invasion as well as Buddy Holly, he recorded a great deal of unreleased studio and live material that was issued in the '80s, when the depth of his loss began to be appreciated.

TAB BENOIT - 2007 Power Of The Pontchartrain

TAB BENOIT
Tab Benoit's new album titles leave little doubt as to where he's from or the music he plays. Brother to the Blues, Fever for the Bayou, Wetlands, and now Power of the Pontchartrain exude the sweaty Louisiana swamp, blues, and R&B inherent in their names.
But that only tells part of the story--the rest is in the grooves where Benoit's distinctive, grainy voice and tough Telecaster leads bring soul, grit, and intensity to a sound already infused with an earthy sensibility.
Louisiana's LeRoux is a melodic classic rock band with excellent harmonies and tight musicianship who continues to perform and play with some of the biggest names in classic rock, playing primarily in the southeastern states .

BLACK OAK ARKANSAS - 1975 X Rated

A Few Words:

Southern rock veterans Black Oak Arkansas never quite achieved the level of success enjoyed by contemporaries like Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers, but have remained a cult band thanks to their raw, primitive energy and the testosterone-fueled antics of lead vocalist/showman James "Big Jim Dandy" Mangrum.
Named for Mangrum's hometown, Black Oak Arkansas eventually built up a solid following through incessant touring and enjoyed a run of ten charting albums between 1971 and 1976Black Oak Arkansas dates back to the mid-'60s, when a group of young, long-haired misfits headed by Jim Mangrum, unable to find work, turned to rock & roll.
However, the group was unable to purchase equipment and ended up being arrested for grand larceny after stealing items from the local school in order to get money. They were nearly run out of town and went to live in the nearby hills, locating and borrowing equipment where they could. The band moved to New Orleans in 1969 and called itself Knowbody Else, with a lineup of vocalist Mangrum; guitarists Ricky "Ricochet" Reynolds, Stanley "Goober" Knight, and Harvey "Burley" Jett; bassist Pat Daugherty; and drummer Wayne Evans. Knowbody Else recorded a self-titled album for Stax, which went nowhere; rethinking their approach, the band became interested in psychedelia and Eastern spirituality, which they filtered through their Southern Baptist upbringing. Changing their name to Black Oak Arkansas, the band secured a deal with Atlantic after several trips to Los Angeles and released its self-titled debut in 1971. While it wasn't a hit, the band toured extensively, building a reputation as a raw, incendiary live act that made up for occasional musical deficiencies with energy and the explicit sexuality of Mangrum, who flaunted his body at every opportunity and became known for such antics as miming sex with the washboard he used for musical accompaniment.

MARK KNOPFLER - 2000 Sailing To Philadelphia

Sailing to Philadelphia is an album by Mark Knopfler (former frontman of Dire Straits) released in 2000. The album's sixth song, "Do America", replaces "One More Matinee" on the Warner Bros. release in North America and is included on the UK and North American releases only.
The title track is about the surveying of the Mason-Dixon line, the demarcation established in 1781 between the free and the slave states.
Working with a two-guitars, two-keyboards, bass and drums band (like Dire Straits), Knopfler brings in a variety of sympathetic guests, notably James Taylor, Van Morrison, and Squeeze leaders Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford. These guest stars provide pleasant contrast to Knopfler's modest vocal talents, but they never steal the spotlight from the leader

10 CC - 1974 Sheet Music

10 CC.
Deriving their name from the metric total of semen ejaculated by the average male, the tongue-in-cheek British art-pop band 10cc comprised an all-star roster of Manchester-based musicians: vocalist/guitarist Graham Gouldman was a former member of the Mockingbirds and the author of hits for the Yardbirds, the Hollies, Herman's Hermits and Jeff Beck; singer/guitarist Eric Stewart was an alum of Wayne Fontana & the Mindbenders; and vocalists/multi-instrumentalists Kevin Godley and Lol Creme were both highly regarded studio players. Formed in 1970, 10cc began as a session unit dubbed Hotlegs; after establishing residence at Stewart's Strawberry Studios, Hotlegs scored a surprise U.K. smash with the single "Neanderthal Man," subsequently issuing an LP, Thinks: School Times and touring with the Moody Blues.

10 cc has been voted as one of the most promising groups for 1970's with "Bad Company" at that time.

POPOL VUH
Florian Fricke studied music in Munich, where he was a pupil of Rudolph Hindemith (Paul Hindemith's brother). At the age of 25 he became acquainted with the Moog synthsizer which leads him to form his band "Popol Vuh". This name and inspiration come from the holy book of Guatemala's Quiche Indians.
Their second album, "In Den Garten Pharaos", fuses ambient electronic textures with traditional, ethnic instruments, but put the stress on spiritual themes. In the grand tradition of many Krautrock greats of the era, this album consists of only two side-length cuts.
"In Den Garten Pharaos" is a stunning moogish beauty that creates an utterly hypnotic atmosphere enhanced by pseudo-african drumming which strikes us with a feeling of terror. As the seventh minute of the first track begins all evil starts to speak with one voice. Beware of lurking shadows in your "castle". Night is the rightest time to play it loud. So switch off the light and dream of pharaos' gardens...
"Vuh" is a huge and massive wall of organ sounds played in a passionate mood, so magnificent in tune that you cannot compare it with anything else in the world. The ground-breaking sound like a thunderous God-influenced preacher's voice rolls over you making you feel like a little worm, totally and wholly out of help. What strikes most is a constant stream of church organs vibrating strongly for twenty minutes with no regret as if they were trying to bring down all the sinners of this world on their knees.
HAVE A NICE TRIP...

ROLLING STONES - COCKSUCKER BLUES 1973 -

ROLLING STONES \ Cocksucker Blues.
Cocksucker Blues is an unreleased documentary film directed by Robert Frank chronicling The Rolling Stones' North American tour in 1972 in support of their album Exile on Main Street.
There was much anticipation for the band's arrival, with them having not visited the United States since the 1969 disaster at Altamont Free Concert, in which a fan, Meredith Hunter, was stabbed and beaten to death by Hells Angels. The tour fulfilled its promise of tremendous rock and roll performances on stage. Behind the scenes, the tour embodied debauchery, lewdness and hedonism.
The film was shot cinéma vérité, with several cameras with plenty of film left lying around for anyone in the entourage to pick up and start shooting. This allowed the film's audience to witness backstage parties, drug use (Mick Jagger is seen snorting cocaine backstage), roadie antics, fey artists and the Stones with their defenses down.
"Cocksucker Blues" was the title of a song Mick Jagger wrote to be the Stones' final single for Decca Records, as per their contract. Its context and language was chosen specifically to anger Decca executives. The track was refused by Decca and only released later on a West German compilation in 1983, although the compilation was discontinued and re-released without the song.
The film itself is under a court order which forbids it from being shown unless the director is physically present. This ruling stems from the conflict that arose when the band, which had commissioned the film, decided that its content was inappropriate and didn't want it shown. The director felt otherwise and thus the ruling. However, bootleg copies of the film are available. It has somewhat of a popular aura surrounding it around fellow rockers, such as Marilyn Manson, who mentioned viewing it and seeing his living room in it (parts of it were filmed at the Mary Astor House, on Appian Way in Laurel Canyon where Manson has resided since late 1997).

VERY RARE..
The selftitled song.."COCKSUCKER BLUES"

Well, I'm a lonesome schoolboy and I just came into town Yeah, I'm a lonesome schoolboy and I just came into town Well, I heard so much about London I decided to check it out
Well, I wait in Leicester Square with a come-hither look in my eye Yeah, I'm leaning on Nelsons Column but all I do is talk to the lime
Oh where can I get my cock sucked? Where can I get my ass f ** ked? I may have no money, but I know where to put it every time
Well, I asked a young policeman if he'd only lock me up for the night Well, I've had pigs in the farmyard, some of them, some of them, they're alright Well, he f**ked me with his truncheon and his helmet was way too tight
Oh where can I get my cock sucked? Where can I get my ass f ** ked? I ain't got no money, but I know where to put it every time
I'm a lonesome schoolboy ....

THE GRASSROOTS -1967 Let's Live for Today

THE GRASSROOTS.
A few words:
The Grass Roots was originated by the writer/producer team of P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri as a pseudonym under which they would release a body of Byrds/Beau Brummels-style folk-rock. Sloan and Barri were contracted songwriters for Trousdale Music, the publishing arm of Dunhill Records, which wanted to cash in on the folk-rock boom of 1965.
Dunhill asked Sloan and Barri to come up with this material, and a group alias under which they would release it. The resulting "Grass Roots" debut song, "Where Were You When I Needed You," sung by Sloan, was sent to a Los Angeles radio station, which began playing it. The group began spreading its wings in the studio with their album "Let's Live for today "with the selftitled song to be taken from the Italian group "ROKES" and sung in a new version..

RAGING SLAB :
These guys must have BLACK BELT on Boogie!!
Led by singer and guitarist Greg Strzempka, Raging Slab is known for its highly unique Southern-rock boogie sound, with influences from punk and metal.
Part of the group's impact comes from slide guitarist Elyse Steinman, who serves as a rhythmic anchor and sometimes adds texture — unusual functions for a slide player. The band also includes third guitarist Mark Middleton, Alec Morton, and Bob Pantella.

THE ROKES - Tutti I Successi Di Rokes -

THE ROKES
Ολο και κάποιος θα τούς ειχε δει σε ταινία του AL Bano εεε!!
------------------
The Rokes were one of the more unusual British Invasion-era groups to come out of England, if only for the pattern and locale of their success. They never sold many records in England, or any in America, but they were a major act in Italy and also managed to make an extraordinary, albeit indirect, impact on the 1960s with a song that they originally premiered in Italian.
Their big success and their major impact on the world of rock & roll beyond Italy, however, came when Shapiro co-authored a song called "Piangi Con Me," a hit for the group in Italy and later released in England by the group as "Let's Live for Today." The Rokes' version was relatively subdued and reflective. It was first covered by a band called the Living Daylights, but it was when the song was picked up by the Grassroots in America and recorded in a more defiant and dramatic fashion than the Rokes' original, with P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri producing, that it made a permanent impact on music and American popular culture. That record not only sold more than two million copies, but became one of the most enduring hit singles of its period — with a special meaning to Vietnam veterans — and, stylistically, was a forerunner of a sound that Bruce Springsteen would become a star with nine years later.
RARE ALBUM.. Don't miss it.
