MANFRED MANN'S EARTH BAND - Nightingales And Bombers

MANFRED MANN'S EARTH BAND \ NIGHTINGALES AND BOMBERS 1975 .

This was to be the last album by the first line-up, although one of the high points was the interplay between Manfred on keyboards and Mick's guitar. It also contained the first Springsteen cover, "Spirits In The Night".

Manfred Mann, Keyboards
Mick Rogers, Guitars, Vocals
Colin Pattenden, Bass Guitar
Chris Slade, Drums

The title of this album was inspired by a recording
made in Surrey, England during the Second World
War, by an ornithologist intending to record
Nightingales.
The bombers flew over at the same time and were
recorded by accident. The recording has been
incorporated in 'As Above, So Below'.

Fantastic album!!

MANFRED MANN'S EARTH BAND - Solar Fire 1974

MANFRED MANN'S EARTH BAND \ SOLAR FIRE 1974.

Still considered by many followers to be one of the best Earth Band albums. Following on from the hit single "Joybringer", based on "Jupiter" from Holst's "Planet Suite", the album continued the theme, although without the freedom to use any more of Holst's work. Although altogether a fine and atmospheric album there is one outstanding track, a ten minute working of Dylan's "Father Of Day Father Of Night".

Line up:
Mick Rogers: Guitar, vocals
Manfred Mann: Organ, synthesizer, vocals
Colin Pattenden: Bass
Chris Slade: Drums

Enjoy it.

I think that nobody of us could forget groups like Colosseum and there music that was years ahead of their time..
I post the first 4 of them and if you don't have them it's time to add them to your collection.
