SOUTHWEST F.O.B \ SMELL OF INCENCE 1966.

Late-sixties Dallas band Southwest F.O.B. are mostly remembered for "Smell of Incense," a pop-psychedelic tune with an ethereal organ that was a big regional hit in the South, and a small national one. The group were more aligned with the "soft rock" or sunshine pop sounds typical of many late-sixties pop-psychedelic southern Californian acts than the tough Texas garage style.
Southwest F.O.B were apparently a killer live act to the extent that they reportedly blew Led Zeppelin off stage in August, 1969 (a gig which culminated in Zeke setting his cymbals on fire and throwing his drumkit all over the stage).
They generally opened with a set of soul covers then, after a costume change, did a set of Cream-like hard rock and finished with a set of original material.

Emerging from the same mid-60s Houston, Texas scene as label mates Thursday’s Children and The Red Crayola, Lost And Found were formed in 1965 and originally called themselves The Misfits, changing their name just prior to undertaking a six-month residency at Houston's Living Eye Club – one of the centres of the area’s thriving psychedelic scene.

Members were Peter Black guitar and vocals, Jimmy Frost lead guitar and James Harrell on bass. John Kearney of the Spades played with them for a short while after the Spades had split up in 1965, and they went through a succession of drummers, first Norman Blythe, then Mickey Bishop, and finally Steve Webb.
